Free Credit Reports
and how to get them
Free Credit Report
Many financial institutions use credit reports to identify the people who are most able to pay back a loan. They can then use them to gauge how much they can safely lend to each applicant.
Your entire personal credit history can be seen on this credit report, which can be personally requested free, and the information received online, taking very little time and effort.
Equifax, Experian and TransUnion are the main three agencies to obtain a credit report from, and as well as your credit history and credit score, they have all your personal information. The reports are all received as one request each year. If you don’t use Annual Credit Report services, and ask each agency individually, you have to pay a fee.
A free credit report is available to you if you have received a loan, credit card, job or insurance policy denial. Viewing it once a year also prevents against any fraudulent claims or identity theft.
Obtaining a free credit report online is easy, taking only a few minutes. Simply click on "free copy of my credit report" on one of the websites, and then provide waht it tells you to. There are free credit report sites all over the internet. It is quick to do, and unless you require your credit score, no payment is needed.
If you have previously been denied a loan, a copy of your credit rating from your bank or lending company can be requested by law. This is a way of obtaining a free credit report.
Because your credit report gives creditors information about your financial status, any errors or negative points need to be kept at a minimum. Creditors can also see how many times you have been denied or approved credit, therefore there may be things you were never aware of on your credit report.
